Forced to stay in hiding in the jungle after Zemo's death because is past as a smuggler in Europe, Eric Josten finds the laboratory where was created Wonder Man. The Enchantress appears and he agrees to her offer to him the same powers. Once the transformation is complete, he takes the name of Power Man. They put in action a series of incidents that make the Avengers look like menaces to society, which forces the authorities to order them to disband. Some time later, a press agent offers the Enchantress and Power Man to replace the Avengers. When to agent pretends to be responsible for the heroes' downfall, Power Man retorts that he and his partner were the ones who framed the Avengers. But it turns out that the agent was Captain America in disguise and that he recorded the whole confession. Power Man tries to stop the hero from escaping but the other Avengers join the fight. When the Enchantress vanishes and leaves him behind, Power Man decides that he no longer has a reason to fight.
