She accompanies Thor to find a maddened Balder who keeps repeating the word 'Asgard'. Hildegarde then follows Thor with the others back to an empty Asgard, finding a sentient alien race of lizards - the Sssth - there instead. Hildegarde travels with the lizards, who claim they are slaves and that the Asgardians have been kidnapped by another alien race - the Vrellnexians - to stop Odin and the Asgardians being sold into slavery. She combats a crowd of alien slave traders and they overcome them, only to find the Sssth have betrayed them and they are surrounded.
She attacks the numerous Sssth, but she and her companions are ultimately defeated. She is locked up with Tana Nile in a dungeon separate from everyone else, and they manage to avoid the drugged broth that is sapping everyone's wills long enough for Thor to escape and free them. She sneaks throughout Golden Star until they encounter a group of hidden alien freedom fighters. They form a plan to overcome the Sssth and free the prisoners simultaneously, and Hildegarde goes with Thor to sneak up and disarm Sssthgar and his main force. They succeed, and the prisoners are freed, leaving the heroes with no further task, so they leave the planet to return to Asgard.
She accompanies Thor's group into the Dark Nebula in search of Sif and Karnilla. On the journey, she recounts to Tana Nile the story behind Sif's disappearance. When they reach the Nebula, they find an asteroid and three hostile miners who mistake them for besieging Gramosians, an alien race whom Thor had encountered before, in the form of Mercurio, the 4D man. Mercurio appears with his forces and attacks the Asgardians. Hildegarde fights a great deal of the Gramosians but is eventually shot in the back by one of them. However, the battle is quickly interrupted by a huge red jewel rising out of the asteroid that has trapped Sif and Karnilla within.
She listens to Xorr's warnings and can do naught to attack because of Sif and Karnilla's entombment within the God-Jewel. They are plunged into a cavern and form a temporary alliance with Mercurio to allow them all to escape. They battle the now hypnotised miners and reach the surface, but a spaceship piloted by the lead miners has taken hold of the God-Jewel and is flying away. They pursue the ship, and Thor destroys their weaponry with Mjolnir, allowing the Asgardians to eventually catch up. Hildegarde is beaten back by Kagg's molecular disruptor, which Odin is able to destroy, but Thor refuses to destroy the God-Jewel and Xorr remains empowered.
She waits under Odin's command, rather than attacking Xorr, for she soon discovers that Xorr is about to try and harness the power of a star going supernova. They bide their time and escape just as Xorr is destroyed by the energy.
She returns to Asgard with the band, but they find imposters in their place. Hildegarde battles the duplicates. Igron is revealed as the true villain, and is defeated by Balder and Thor. The imposters soon fade.
She eats dinner with her family, but her parents share concerns over her sister Krista's condition after finding the charmstone. Hildegarde breaks down Krista's door when a great flash of light occurs, but upon entering the room, Krista is gone.
She voices her worries about Krista before Odin, who uses an instrument to locate her - but comments that she is doomed.
She greets Thor, Sif and Balder at the entrance to Asgard and informs them of the disappearance of Krista. Odin reveals she is a captive of Pluto, and what seems to be Hercules. Thor travels alone to Olympus.
She observes Thor and Hercules and worries that Thor has betrayed the Asgardians. Odin tells her and Sif to have faith and dismisses them.
She stands with Odin as the All-Father calls Thor and Hercules traitors. She is relieved to hear that Hercules is actually innocent, and Ares had impersonated him. Thor and Hercules leave Asgard to battle Pluto on Earth.
She watches as Firelord sends a signal to bring Galactus back to Earth.
She consoles Sif after their plea for Odin to aid Thor against Ego fails. When Sif leaves, Hildegarde makes use of Odin's visi-globe and checks up on Krista's recovery.
When Thor gets trapped under a building by Sandu, the Valkyries are ordered by Odin to deliver the Belt of Strength to his son.
