Jarrella is catapulted towards a mountain as a sacrifice to the Mountain God when Hulk sees her and catches her in midair, saving her. Jarella pleads with the Hulk not to harm her captors, as they are her people, so Hulk flees with Jarella. They find a place to stop and reminisce about their past, then share a tender kiss. She tells Hulk that God of the Mountain has been plaguing her people with earthquakes, and some of her people blame her for this because she married outsider like the Hulk. Hulk resolves to fight this Mountain God, and Jarella insists on going with him. She feels that it's her duty, for her people, to face this God that plagues her land. At the top of the mountain, Hulk and Jarrella fund a giant house with a giant door. They crawl underneath the door and are attack by the Mountain God, who is a giant. Not being intimidated, Hulk fights the giant, and finds that he's a robot. Hulk is able to completely dismantle the Mountain God into scraps. Though Jarrella wants to see investigate who built the robot, Hulks wants to leave when he is suddenly hit by a beam from Psyclop.

She reveals that she was being sacrificed because some of her people felt that the recent increase in earthquakes was cause by the gods being angry that she consorted with an outsider like the Hulk. They then go to the top of the mountain to face the Mountain God, whom the Hulk defeats and reveals to be a robot. She and the Hulk are captured by Psyklop, who it is revealed built the robot and has been the cause of the earthquakes. After her advisors realize the truth and take the army to save her, she asks the Hulk to marry he, and he gladly accepts. Suddenly, both she and the Hulk are enlarged by Doc Samson and appear on Earth. Wanting to go back to her kingdom, she is horrified when it’s revealed that the kingdom is lost and might have been destroyed.

Having been put in a containment chamber to protect her from Earth’s potentially harmful atmosphere, Jarella tells Bruce that she loves him and encourages him to do what will make him happy, even if that means he’s no longer the Hulk.
