The Sub-Mariner has finally found his people and is acclaimed as their ruler, but this does please Warlord Krang who wanted Lady Dorma and the Crown for himself. Soon, Namor declares war on the surface people and orders his army to invade New York. Namor and Krang are parading with their conquering legions in Washington Square when suddenly the water in his people's helmets starts to evaporate forcing everyone to retreat back to sea. Namor kidnaps the Invisible Girl and takes her into his imperial amphibious craft where he joins Krang and Dorma. The other Fantastic Four arrive and Namor engages battle with them in the ocean. When Krang notes that there may be a bond between the Prince and the Invisible Girl, Dorma is furious with jealousy and smashes the view port to drown the hostage. Seeing that Sue is drowning, the Avenging Son stops fighting and orders his people out of his command craft to take her safely to shore. Dorma and Krang are shocked that their monarch would betray his people to save an enemy but they comply.

He is secretly in league with Byrrah but is found and defeated by Namor making him confess the conspiracy.

Warlord Krang encourages Namor to take action against the surface people in the secret hope to seize the throne of Atlantis after the humans destroy him.

After his soldiers have captured the Sub-Mariner who came back to Atlantis to save his throne, Warlord Krang learns that Dorma has freed her prince and intends to stop him during his quest for Neptune's Trident by setting several traps along the way. Meanwhile, he imposes his tyrannical rule over the kingdom and plans to invade the surface world. Despite her being a traitor to him, he intends to take Dorma as his bride, which she categorically refuses. As punishment, he sends her to the subterranean world of the Faceless Ones. Then he uses his Robo-Tank to convince the civilian rebels to stand down or they'll be killed. Shortly after, the Sub-Mariner comes back to defeat him and exiles him from Atlantis.
