She is revealed to be trapped within Xorr the God-Jewel alongside Karnilla. Xorr warns the nearby Asgardians to stay back under threat of destruction.
She continues to supply Xorr with basic energies and Thor cannot yet free her. When Mercurio attacks with a force of Gramosians, Xorr begins to harness the energy of a star going supernova. These unstable energies give Thor and Mercurio a chance to team up and free Sif and Karnilla and escape before Xorr is destroyed.
She returns to Asgard with the band, but they find imposters in their place. Sif battles Hildegarde's duplicate for the entirety of the skirmish, until Igron is revealed as the true villain - trapping Thor and Sif. Balder sneaks up and knocks out the distracted Igron, however, and the imposters soon fade. Odin informs Sif and the others of a great danger approaching the Rigellians, though, and Asgard afterwards.
She departs for Rigel-3 upon the Asgardian starjammer, and finds the planet abandoned, save for a race of mutant Rigellians, whom they are attacked by. The two sides stop fighting when they discover their common cause and they leave to catch up with the Rigellians. She meets with the Grand Commissioner, who informs her of the desperate state they are in, and reveals the power of the Black Stars.
She approaches, under the Grand Commissioner's command, the Black Stars, and encounters a being named Avalon. Avalon battles them, but deems them powerful and courageous, and soon welcomes them inside. Avalon reveals he and his race are slaves, but that they can now attempt to fight back.
She attempts to harm Kragonn, but he and the Rhunians are veritable giants to them and take little notice. They defend themselves from more of the Protectors. They bide their time until Kragonn listens to them and realises the Rhunians don't need to gather energy and cosmic debris, for the rest of the Black Stars are dead planets. Thor and his band leave and the Rhunians stop destroying solar systems.
She bids farewell to the Rigellians and Silas Grant and returns to Asgard, where the Gods catch her up on the vanishing of Krista. Odin reveals that she is a captive of Pluto, and what seems to be Hercules. Thor travels alone to Olympus.
She observes Thor and Hercules and worries that Thor has betrayed the Asgardians. Odin tells her and Hildegarde to have faith and dismisses them.
She stands with Odin as the All-Father calls Thor and Hercules traitors. She is relieved to hear that Hercules is actually innocent, and Ares had impersonated him. Thor and Hercules leave Asgard to battle Pluto on Earth.
She watches as Firelord sends a signal to bring Galactus back to Earth, and questions his ostensible obsession with the planet.
She tries to convince Odin to go and help Thor and Galactus battle Ego, but Odin has placed his trust in Thor and will not do as she says. When he leaves her company, she shares her fears with Hildegarde.
She accompanies Odin as he praises Thor's efforts against Ego.
She remains trapped within the God-Jewel and can only communicate with Karnilla and Xorr. Their energy is being sapped to power Xorr, and the miners try to escape the Asgardians so Xorr can keep stealing power. However, they are caught, and Thor is about to smash the God-Jewel, but Xorr promises that Sif and Karnilla will die if he does so.
During an ambush, the Storm Giants have taken the gentle Sif and their king Rugga has traded her to Hela in exchange for immortality. Thor visits the Goddess of Death and offers to trade his life to free the girl. Hela is so moved by his sacrifice that she spares him and allows him to leave with Sif.
