Great pencils on the spirit quest section.

Snowbird is the lamest "goddess" in all of Marveldom. She spends 85% of every appearance wasting away from some sickness, or going insane from some affliction, or unable to contribute because of some mystic curse or another.
That hybrid wolf/owl form at the end was pretty sweet though. If only she could voluntarily do such things,

Plus 1 for the spirit mosquitoes. I've been in situations with that many mosquitoes and they are indeed hell on earth.

So many things going on, I don't know if any of it is interesting but I do want to know what happens next even if I read this about 10 years ago for the firs time.

That sentence from Vindicator describing Wolverines origin is basically the summary of the entire story coming out in a couple years from now.

I like Shaman's new costume and I think I prefer it to his old one.

Worst summary ever:
Wide set of characters juggled - all with varying states of misery. Shaman fights spirit wolves, spirit deer, spirit fish, spirit mosquitoes, and spirit snow.

Starts out with Atlantean politics, goes on with Puck's spurned love, then Snowbird's skin condition, and culminates in Shaman's spirit journey to get new threads and an eagle bonnet...

I had a feeling that Namor's ouster as ruler of Atlantis in the Sub-Mariner mini-series (and referred to a couple of times in recent Avengers' stories) was part of a longer game. Sad thing is, it's looking like it's amounting to the same ol' same ol'. Prove me wrong, fellas! Though I'll give 'em credit; it's not like Attuma to utilize diplomatic channels to gain power, he's usually a gain-power-by-force dude.
3 stars. Hey Puck, Heather's a cutie but she's still smarting from Mac's death. It takes awhile for some people. Chill out, man.

It's the same game, though. Namor is the worst Atlantean Ruler...excet for every other one. And the Atlantean people absolutely can't be left alone. Without Namor, it's never more than a few days before Atlantis is destroyed by a disaster, or they all roll over to the first Tom, Dick, or Attuma that shows up to seize power.
The only Atlanteans worse than Namor are literally all of them.

The love drama between Puck and Vindicator is crappy and needs to stop.

Puck and Wolverine should go out on a double date.

My goodness. A quotation from Farley Mowat. I hope that they choose something from "The Boat Who Wouldn't Float" for the next one.

I find it interesting how Alpha Flight tends to lean more towards internal dynamics and character strife than actually battling outside forces. Seeming to spend more time trying to protect themselves, from their own powers and personal tragedies, than saving the world or bringing criminals to justice.
This isn't actually a bad thing. In following an alternative path than the usual superhero comic fare, it makes to create an ambiance within the world, that it is not under constant threat or war from petty or powerful super being's and their machinations.
Essentially, life goes on for normal people, and life sucks for Alpha Flight.

It was almost as annoying as the night are sound my mind produced during the spirit mosquitos bit. Haing spent some dismal time in swamps and jungle, I'm not joking when I say I'd rather deal with the wolves.
