I'm going to give this one 5 stars. The recap was perfectly done, sewn seamlessly into the narrative and reminding us of all of the stories we've read. For me, I needed the recap to realize and/or remember there was a connection. That's the other reason for the 5 stars. World-building at its finest. You have the history of Wisp and Spider-man factor into their dialogue, you have the recap, you have Spider-man reflecting on how Tarantuala's death is similar to Black Cat's, and you have continuously present side characters that help to tie the room together (Harrow also "created" Hammerhead and Kangaroo). Add to this JJJ's improved character development, the landord that reminds me of the future landlord on Kingpin (ha ha), and you have an unforgettable issue (I also think this is the first direct connection established between Brand and Roxxon).

Huh I guess they retconned Will o wisp's origin story for some reason, this was an entertaining issue for sure and it really made me glad I was reading the order. plus I really liked how subtly they showed that JJJ is still a good journalist and man with good morals despite all his flaws.

Of course, there's a problem with the photos. It was going too perfectly for it not to have a hiccup.

I also vaguely remember that Dr. Harrow was involved with Wisp at some point.

Some characters seem pretty simple but have very complicated backstories. Wisp looks like he would have one very complex history but he's just a dude who tripped and fell into his Will o the Wisp experiment.

Ya just knew those photos weren't going to develop properly, right?

An ambitious issue but ultimately not up to par with the last few we've gotten. I didn't care for the recap or the heavy Wisp plotline here. I don't like the character. Tarantula's arc has been far more interesting.

His spider form really is quite terrifying and tragic. I wish it was being portrayed as such. He really doesn't seem to mind it himself!

That recap, like others said made me happy I was reading the order lol, but not only that positioning it the way it was, as a debriefing by a law enforcement officer? That was the best way to show a recap, and a long one at that, that I have seen in the order yet.

Since the recap didn't have any footnotes, I've decided to do the work myself.

What a hero!

I like that they didn’t make Tarantula mindless in his current monster form. Kind of funny for him to be still be yelling “caramba!” and “idiota!” while as a giant monster spider.

That’s definitely one of the shadiest looking DOJ attorneys I’ve ever seen....

Worst summary ever:

The story is good, but the flashbacks really dragged down the middle section leading to the exciting conclusion.

Which is unfortunately the exact same conclusion just used in this comic.

Some people don't know how to lose. Poor Anton, he gets what was always coming to him and he turns to Roxxon? Not a smart move man, aren't you aware of conspiracy theories?

This has been a smartly done and compelling arc thus far. Really enjoyed the recap to see how this fits all together in Marvel Universe history.

If it weren't for Peter's luck, the photos could have blown the Brand case wide open...

Roxxon, you don't have to put on the red light....

Not as intense as the previous issue, but still pretty good. This seemed to set up the conclusion rather than concentrate on action, and that's fine by me. And the bit with Jonah in that meeting reminds me that he's still got quite a few redeeming qualities in spite of his yuckier ones.

3 stars, not quite 4-star worthy. But the conclusion promises to be fun!

Wait, didn't Jonas Harrow make the Wisp?

Looking forward to the conclusion, and to see more dastardly contrivances from Roxxon & Brand.

@Redsvetz: there was something gratifying about reading the recap and having read every issue in it!

-I like the Wisp bits, hate the Tarantula ones...just be defeated

already...

-The Roxxon/Brand recap validated my decision to read every disgusting book in the CMRO.
