I think at this point it may be a more interesting story if Roxxon appears and isn't up to something nefarious.

This was really slow to read. And Iron Man's boots are out of control. It's 1991, too late for bell bottoms, too early for Uggs.

This was better than I expected for an annual, but that absurd transformation on the final page better have a better explanation than "oops, someone activated the super-hero-creation laser."

This had the hallmarks of a Marvel Team-Up story from the 70s, with all its glory and cheesiness. I'm just surprised there wasn't a Marvel Misunderstanding Fight in this...

I thought this was kind of fun, flaws notwithstanding. Usually, the dumber and more blatant the plan Roxxon has, the more entertaining their comeuppance is when it all goes south. And I love it when Roxxon screws themselves; releasing the vibranium substitute in its unstable form isn't out of their known parameters of past behavior, and I bet they have paid plants in the government to bypass market regulatory rules, the EPA, consumer protection, FDA, maybe even the ATF. It really just makes it easier to shoot themselves in the foot more often.

3 stars. I think this has the makings of a pretty solid arc, which is a near-miracle for these Annuals, but I agree the set-up could've been executed a bit better.

Hale is a terrible businessman to destroy his company's reputation by selling unstable vibranium like that. It's not viable enough to bring to the market. The short-term profits are not worth the civil, let alone criminal, penalties. It would be like the Ford Pinto to the tenth power.

And T'Challa basically just wants to stop a potential rival supplier of vibranium so his country can maintain its monopoly on vibranium. The global economy be damned, I guess.

I think deceiving Ultron might be worse than all your points put together. If Ultron goes medevil on them, then this arc will be worth it.

Roxxon has had some pretty dumb plans over the years.

That Roxxon plan screams lawsuit in the making. I also think Wakanda should maybe try to diversify their economy a bit. That reliance on vibranium can't be healthy.

This was a lot hokier than I thought it would be.
