I kind of miss the weird alt-earth fantasy-scifi weirdness the order used to have. More the idea of it, because most of the actual comics were not good. But they were better than whatever armor this get up was supposed to be.

Doesn't quite work.
John Jameson has a go at being a super hero.
The problem with this script is that it tries to do too much in 8 pages. It opens with a dream sequence and some character stuff between Jameson and his father before we even get to the actual mission. Consequently, the mission feels rushed and the villain is bland.

John gets in line to get the nineties treatment by taking up a gun and ugly costume. Just needs a nonsensical code-name to round it out...

That prototype armour sure made for a really ugly costume.

Reminds of Gangbuster from DC, but without any fun reading

That's a good idea. I can could see Jameson working as a Gangbuster type of character. I enjoyed him as a pilot for the Avengers, so it wouldn't be to far off for him. Just don't have an amnesiac Spidey take over the role.
