Just 2 stars for London's Freezing!!!

Cover Me - Chill cover by Layton!!!

Pinkies Out - Like everyone said, that Sybil is one saucy bird!!

Credit Due - Alan Weiss does some great fight scenes and some cool shots of Iron Man!!!

On Thin Ice - I'm glad Iron Man crashed while using his stupid skates!!!

Lukewarm - I did like the way Endotherm used his powers, but his costume would be better suited as a stunt villain?!

'Nuff Said - "Not yet, smart-ice!" - Endotherm, the Punman Goeth...

"diamond hard ice crystals." That is all.

Such a cool name wasted on a one-shot villain. I'd prefer "Corny dialogue man". That said, I actually did like the catalyst for his becoming villain.

Iron Man runs hot and cold in London. Hmm. Maybe Jack Frost was killed off a bit too quickly. Turns out he could have been used for one last Iron Man story. The twist at the end was better than I was expecting, so I'll give the story credit for that. But I have to take points away for silliness of the heat vs. cold stuff. Whatever Stark and Sybil got up to happened off page too. Pity. Two stars.

In Marvel Masterworks, Michelinie says this was an inventory story plotted by Palmer and drawn by Weiss, but the plot had been lost and Michelinie was only given a couple of vague suggestions about what the original plot was to have been. He also says the features "...Iron Man's rare - and perhaps last - use of his classic boot skates." I hope that means they're never seen again, but I'm concerned it just means his "classic" rollerskates are never seen again.

Wilkins is very much the sad sack in this issue. There's no way it should have taken Stark that long to realize the temperature had fallen from 65 degrees to 41 degrees. I did like Endotherm's "apology" to Iron Man. There's an awful lot of people who can, to varying degrees, control the weather in the Marvel Universe. No pun intended, but it's pretty good, so I'm leaving it. Wilkins up and quitting for no reason would seem to suggest something is going on. So...Endotherm was reading himself the riot act on the phone? Iron Man wins because he's already encased himself in ice so Endotherm can't. Isn't that akin to beating yourself up before your bully can? I'm confused by the last panel: is Stark saying he'll pay for treatment or that Wilkins' pension can suck up the treatment costs?

Sybil seems like a go-er *nudge nudge wink wink* knows how to warm up some pinkies *say no more, say no more*

Don't we have enough temperature-related villains already?
Feels like this was a pre-written fill-in issue used because they missed a deadline - I know Tony's a playboy, but the whole thing with Sybil was a bit too much considering how things have been going between him and Bethany.

Next months in these very pages Tony heads to Hong Kong to meet his chief of security and battles Ectotherm. (Endotherm and ectotherm are the scientific names for warm blooded and cold blooded animals)

Yeah, I know a good place where I could wrap up my pinkies and it's derivative of the word pusillanimous.

I need to get past those strands of mediocre stories. Give me some X-Men, please.

I would've gotten Tom's pension taken away, UK laws be damned. Or at the very least I would've garnered the wages for the rest of his life to pay for the damages he caused.

Oh yeah, and also the whole attempted murder thing.

Fun fact: pusillanimous is the root word for pussy, and it means timid or cowardly

Finally a Marvel writer acknowledges that England does not exist in a Dickensian/Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes parallel universe bubble although she still called Tony "Luv" as if she were a 19th century street walker.

But a villain calling everyone "sir" is normal I guess.

This is so goofy! The armor skates! The ice-coated armor! The gun that shoots razor sharp ice pellets! Just absolute bonkers.

If I was the hero of that story I would end up drinking too.

Worst summary ever:

How to battle a villain who makes ICE? Well, ROLLER SKATES, Of course. Combine that with the most SILVER AGE of Silver Age insults, MILKSOP, and this should hit the scrap heap.

Anyone else rooting for Tony to start drinking again?

Why would a British factory have temperature shown in Farenheit? Also Wilkins' NHS treatment wouldn't cost him anything let alone his pension in the UK. This could have been any factory in the USA and none of that would have been an issue, this had no reason and made no sense to be in London

Britain officially uses Celsius but in 1980 most adults still used Fahrenheit and the tv news still used both when I was a kid

Was this a filler issue for a Marvel UK story? This looks like it was colorized after they sent the script straight from the London office's trash bin...

Oh Sybil, you should thank your lucky stars a certain Bethany Cabe didn't make the trip to England!

2 stars. This read like something out of the Tales of Suspense days.

- Cover pun so dumb it borders on genius

- When will writers cease to explain what the drawings tell us?

- Stupid roller skates

- Iron Man was getting good, but it has been treading water lately

Very predictable. What's with the resurgence of these 1-ish stories?

Bow chicka bow bow "...if you play your cards right, Big Ben won't be the only one getting his chime rung this trip!"

Bow chicka bow bow part 2: "If your pinkies ever get that cold again, I've done delightful suggestions on how to warm them."
