After a series of personal tragedies, stunt show mechanic Johnny Blaze makes a deal with the devil to save the life of a loved one. Only, things are not what they seem and before long the devil comes to collect...and the Ghost Rider is born.

This issue was later reprinted in Ghost Rider #10 (v2). The changes made included:
1) First page captions are rewritten to recap Ghost Rider #9 and to explain that the "Dreaded Deadline Doom" has struck.
2) Last page final caption is rewritten to promise the planned adventure with Hulk will be published next issue.
3) The first page has been recolored.
4) Cover depicts Ghost Rider battling Hulk. Ghost Rider #11's letter column explains the cover went to press before Marvel realized the story wasn't ready yet.
