A man named Duncan is sailing on his boat with his girlfriend. When he asks why she would not marry him, she explains that despite all his wealth, he has never accomplished anything in life that is worthy of an engagement from her.

A thick fog suddenly appears and their boat hits the coast of a small island. They decide to climb the terrain to have a better view of their surroundings.

At some point, Duncan finds Cyclops on an island encased in ice and recalls that the monster was once defeated by Ulysses who blinded him to escape. Amazed that the creature is not just a myth, he chooses to free him from the ice with an ax to show the world his incredible finding.

But once the ice has melted around him, the creature wakes up and attacks them. Seeing that Cyclops is threatening to sink a huge cruise ship, Duncan realizes that it is his responsibility to make sure he does not harm anybody. He tricks the creature to chase him. He spots a body of water cover with ice only thick enough to support a human. His trick works and the one-eyed monster finds himself entrapped in ice again.

On their way back, Amanda tells Duncan that because of his courage, he proved his worth and she accepts to marry him.
