Review of
Captain Marvel (1968) #3
7/10
A weak ending and an unnecessary long recap overshadow a bit what is a very good issue, at the same level as the previous ones. Roy Thomas makes you care about the lead character and maintains your interest in the supporting characters. The Super Skrull was doing much better than previous appearances, until he screwed it all up as usual, on the lame ending.
By the way, I'm starting to think that Yon-Rogg is like the Coyote. Every issue he tries to find a way to kill Mar-Vell making it look as an accident, but always explode in his face. I love Gene Colan's eye-catching artwork, it's always gorgeous wherever he is doing his job.
And finally, i couldn't care less about the announcement of the Sub-Mariner for the next issue, Namor currently sucks.
