Review of
X-Men (1963) #45 [A Story]
Main Story 6/10
Another good action issue, intertwined with Avengers #53 in a good crossover. Cyclops is getting on very well on his own, as a determined and skilled fighter and leader. The fight between him and Quicksilver has some good panels by Don Heck.
Quicksilver trying to convince Cyclops to join them on the idea of a secure island for the mutants to live free, will be used many more times in the future. Roy Thomas presents very credible, the two different points of view of how to treat humanity by mutants, and makes sense the loyalty of Cyclops to Charles' vision and Quicksilver to Magneto's one.
Magneto is still a character very stereotyped as a typical 60's villain, but shows some hints of his future personality. It's true that there are the typical 60s stuff, but the reading is entertaining.
