Review of
Fantastic Four (1961) #85
8/10 - The Truman Fantastic Four Show
A solid and enjoyable follow up, that serves as a bridge to continue this great story arc, based on the same strengths and good elements from the previous issue. It's true that it could be considered a little step back, but just for Doom's lines and dialogues I give it the same rating as the previous issue.
The enigmatic haunting house that is offered to Sue is pure silver age nonsense, but I liked the idea and it kept me wanting to unfold its weird mystery in the next issues. Doom keeps stealing the limelight of the show, with his over-the-top, arrogant, narcissistic, and excessive behavior, lines, and dialogue. I'm also enjoying the everyday life and curiosities of Doom, Latveria, its inhabitants, and their interactions.
Kirby's art is also remarkable with those bulky gizmos, exaggerated gadgets, and rectilinear weapons.
