STRANGE COMPANIONS
This may even be a bit more like a Golden Age comic, truly. Replace Nazis with Red Commie China - and this is what the book feels like. caricature versions of local people put against strange fellows - stuck in the perils of the Red Chinese.
The Avengers somewhat lose the battle until Wanda jumps in and rescues the crew by disabling the robot - controlled through drapes like the Wizard of Oz. Too bad. The book had taken some serious steps into respectability before this issue.
