I LIKE THIS ISOLATION. BLACK PANTHER, TOO!

The art has taken a serious turn on improvement. Seeing Quicksilver's motive - isolationism - reminded me of the false pretenses of so many other isolationist movements. On paper - or by argument - the pieces fit from a distance. But it makes a mess of the reality. The comic really was quite a bit ahead of its time, whether it really realized it or not.

Seeing the two mutants - and sometimes heroes - battle was interesting. But I do love the crossover. Seems smarter to have started with Avengers - but what do I know? The origin story continues with Iceman - and interestingly he is painted as more of a pacifist. Cool. And he is set apart from Cyclops, too. Great idea. I also like the upgraded portrayal of Magneto in the art. Great changes.

4/5
