Man, I'm really starting to dread when I get to X-Men issues. It's not that these stories are terrible, it's just that 17 issues in I'm still not all that invested in the mutants as characters. Professor X is just dumping exposition everywhere in this issue, each mutant gets taken out like a chump, and SPOILER ALERT, Magneto's "surprise" reveal didn't seem all the surprising. I'm also sick of the "secret identity" trope in these stories, but that's besides the point. I don't know if I'm getting burned out on this comic or what, but when they don't have a really great story backing them up, I just can't get excited about these comics the way that I can with Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four. I really, really hope this series picks up again in a few issues.
