So I'm Sam, or 'Fernie'. Up until about a year ago, I wanted nothing to do with comics, and especially with what considered the stereotypical comic book universe, Marvel. I had enjoyed comic book movies to an extent and read a few graphic novels (like Batman: The Killing Joke) but that was about it. But that all changed a year ago, when two things happened to me: First I watched Avengers Assemble (which gave a sense of epic-ness and comic book action/fun I'd never quite grasped) and second, I read Marvel 1602 out of curiosity in my public library (which I enjoyed so much that I read the whole 1602 series). From there on I was glued, and started reading mixture of DC Elseworlds and Graphic Novels, which all secured my love of comic books. Being enticed by the ever expanding and universe-wide story, I finally decided to tackle the behemoth of a challenge and start the 'Marvel Reading Order'. Needless to say five days in, I am loving it.
