All you guys complaining about the Nocenti mini-arc in the asylum - TAKE THAT!!

Despite my absolute love for football, I've utterly loathed this issue going all the way back to the first time I read it at age 11. I didn't know a Shooter from a Claremont from a Michelinie back then, but I just instinctively knew this was garbage.

It's funny to imagine Shooter seeing this on the stands a few months after he was fired as EIC. And I wonder if he scripted it before or after he cursed out Sal Buscema for refusing to draw the wedding issue. Anyway I thought this was way better than the Statue of Liberty's missing torch issue.

I'd like to know how this game of jocks and pee wees started. Spidey should have left each of those bigger kids with some bruises. It was a fun little story that almost had a late Ditko feel.

This was fairly dumb, but it was charming enough for 2 stars... until that Twilight Zone ending compelled me to give it a bonus star.

"It is said that the oath of a watcher is absolute." Sir you've clearly not met Uatu.

Is that the first mention of crack in the order?

Geez... and I thought I was a curmudgeon but based on many of these comments, I'm a ray of freaking sunshine.
I thought this was harmless fun filler.

One of those moments I'm relieved that MU is missing this issue and I'm excused from having to read this

Worst summary ever:

Watcher is overmatched by lame villain - so they watch Spider-Man play touch football with a bunch of children. Yes.

Uatu is one Watcher you don't want to mess with. He actually becomes involved...

Another comic I'm slightly embarrassed to mark as "read". Oh well, at least it's Shooter's last Marvel Comic!

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Jim...

This story made me want to go out and unnecessarily rough whomever produced this. 2 stars

I am stunned to see so many positive comments for this rubbish issue.

I know this is objectively not good for moving forward any story but it was really fun for a relative filler issue.

Yeah I liked this a lot too. I appreciate a lighter story after the recent run.

Maybe I love football too much, but this was great.

Three stars. I obviously shouldn't be rating it that highly, in and of itself... but after three consecutive issues of Ann Nocenti, pretty much anything reads like vintage Neil Gaiman in comparison.

Just like Super Bowl LI...

This seems wildly pointless, a little patronizing with the "teamwork wins"/underdog story, and kinda out of the blue after two very involved Spider-Man arc. The only thing that kept it from a 1 star was the Watcher at the end.
